Item Description
1.25" with backpaper by Western Badge of St. Paul. Noticeable but only moderately dark spotting over much of the surface. Text also includes the words "Lafayette School." Jim Key served as a symbol for the fledgling movement for humane treatment of animals. As such, visionary Bostonian George Angell of the Massachusettes Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the American Humane Education Association seized on the horse as proof that animals can think and reason.
