Auction #199 - Part II
Item numbers 973 through 2378 in auction 199
Item Description
This 1.25” showing man in whiteface makeup is an extremely early button with covered tin back and vertical pin c. the 1896-1904 era. In addition, this was a button for a club “Member” and it is an extremely early use of that concept on a button. Cello surface does have a light vertical scratch up the center with 2 even fainter hairlines going off to the right but these 3 marks are just a little apparent in reflected light. Button still displays Exc. and is totally clean. Early and rare.
