Item Description
1950s pull toy "No. 918" by N. N. Hill Brass Co. Comes in 8x8x10.5" tall box. Box design includes illustration of the toy on four side panels. Noticeable dust soiling and aging, one bottom flap is loose but here, 1x2" piece missing from top end flap, several 1" or so edge tears. Still structurally sound for display and VG. Toy consists of two separate pieces w/assembled size of 8.5x16.5x10.5" tall. Front half is jigsawed wood horse w/paper label on each side, original pull string w/wood knob intact and has metal brace. This brace is complete w/pair of bolts and nuts which attach to the back half wheeled merry-go-round unit. This is both wood and metal w/illustrated paper labels on top of base as well as on three separate thick diecut cardboard horses attached to the parosol. Box text reads "The Merry Go Round Revolves, The Boy And Girl Riders Spin And The Bells Ring When The Toy Is Pulled." Toy is old store stock and has not been used but paper labels show aging, mostly on the top base of the merry-go-round which has scattered tiny age spotting. Also has some surface paper lifting at center post where wood base is not firmly intact but this can be easily positioned so not visible for display. Toy remains bright w/vibrant color. VF.
