For all information other than character names, see lot #1054. This lot contains “Batman”; “Penguin”; and “Joker.” The fronts of these carry 1987 DC Comics copyright. A pair of the Superman medals picture him against a flag bkg. with identical rim text “The Man Of Steel/50 Years Of ‘Truth, Justice, And The American Way.” The reverses of these differ. One is as described in our master description while the other is totally different with large center text “50th Birthday Of Superman Feb. 29, 1988.” Edges have additional text including “Created By Jerry Siegel & Joe Schuster” plus a 1987 copyright and statement that this contains one oz. fine silver. A third Superman medal also has “Man Of Steel” title on the front. This shows him flying surrounded by a pattern of angular lines which include his “S” logo at the bottom. The other 3 pieces are “Lex Luthor”; “Lois Lane”; “Supergirl.” These carry DC copyrights ranging between 1982 and 1987.
