Large box is 12x21x3" deep and contains complete five-piece set #56. The illustrated box is designed to be converted into a "hangar." Assembly instructions are printed on the bottom. One inside flap includes cut-outs of flags and beacons. Building sides of the hangar include designations of "Ready Room/Maintenance Office." Box has overall moderate dust soiling, some small age spotting, lid has st. inward warp but box remains tight. Fine. The planes are cast metal and all have folding wings and retractable wheels. The largest plane is Navy Fighter Bomber #495, 10" long and has sliding canopy. There are two matching 6.5" long Navy planes, #467, each w/removable canopy. Final two planes are 5" long #430. Set comes w/small 3.5x5" catalogue dated 1958 featuring cap guns. Sliding canopy of plane #495 has .5" hairline o/w contents are unused and Mint as issued. Exceptional boxed set.
