Item Description
Lot of two. Each is about 3x8" accented by brass tassels. The earliest from 1896 is celluloid bar and suspended 1.75" celluloid jugate, both w/"McKinley & Hobart." Text on ribbon reads "Scandinavian American McKinley Club/Elgin, Ills." Fabric has noticeable bleed of red color onto white areas on lower half, tiny 1/8x.25" fabric flake off top left. Celluloid parts are Exc. Second ribbon badge is from 1900 and reads "Scandinavian Republican Club." Bottom 2" of blue fabric has slightly darker stain but blends and is not very distracting. Most importantly, the celluloid bar is Exc. w/superb color image of McKinley and TR which repeats the design of the rare 1.75" button pinned below on the red fabric. Button can be removed if desired. Button has a single pinpoint dark dot as printed to right of McKinley's head o/w NM and w/high gloss, perfect centering and complete w/Baltimore Badge paper. Both celluloids include small image of TR as Rough Rider w/raised saber riding white horse. The button is rare and this is the only time we've seen the same design on a celluloid bar pin.
