4-1/8x6.5”. 4x5.25” image area. Printed name below. c. 1876. Unitarian inventor, entrepreneur and college founder. A real-life rags-to-riches hero with deep humanitarian and religious convictions. Founded the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. In 1876 ran as presidential candidate for the Greenback Party but received less than 1% of the vote. Reverse text reads “Credit Culver Service/205 East 42/Loaned For Use Only.” .25” ink mark at bottom, o/w VF.
