2.5x13x2.5" tall tin litho car comes in box w/nicely illustrated lid. 1950s. Lid features illustration of driver holding the racer upright, two side panels feature images of the racer streaking along. Lt. box aging, right side panel has a 1.5" tear. Lid has a few lt. 1" edge creases. Fine. The toy is modeled after the motorcycle-based racer by Neckarshulm Strickmaschien Union. Body is decorated by text "NSU/Record Racer/7." Has clear plastic windshield, back has three portholes w/red transparent inserts where sparks are to be viewed. Running diagonally across the top of the racer is a 4" long hairline scratch but this barely shows. Body has additional minute scattered paint nicks but remains totally bright and glossy. VF.
