4.25” tall by 4.25” dia. Dark blue graphics/text. One side shows large sailing ship on ocean. Text above and below. Other side shows map of North and South America. “Chicago” is identified on the map. Vertical coin slot at top. 2.25” dia. base. Two tiny flakes of glaze missing at edge of base. Insignificant and possibly as made. “The Penny Bank Book” shows 2 varieties of similar Columbian Expo globe-shaped ceramic banks. This is a third, unlisted variety. Slightly smaller than known varieties. Hake’s offered other variety in Auction #183-item #899. Sold for $1,021. This is smaller with more detailed graphics. Glaze remains glossy. Lt. crazing visible under close inspection as expected with this type of material. Exceptional. Exc.
