18.5” tall. c. 1920s. Oilcloth illustrated body with fabric jersey and pants. Painted shoes/socks/hands/facial features and removable helmet. Back of helmet reads “Red Grange/77.” Front and back of jersey also with number “77.” Cloth belt attached to pants reads “Licensed By ‘Red’ Grange/Pat Applied For 77.” Pants have original string lace front. Removable oilcloth helmet exposes bright red hair. .75” seam split on helmet. 1” ankle repair. Overall doll is rare, complete and VF. Comes with 2.25” original as issued tin litho football. Text on football reads “Richard Dix/The Quarterback.” Dix starred in the movie by that name about Red Grange. Football made in Germany. Scattered aging/paint loss but retains its original form.
