Item Description
21x33.75” frame contains original 17.5x30.75” (to end of tassels) felt pennant actually used on the Howdy Doody Show. Felt bkg. with “Howdy Doody” felt lettering, pennant is professionally made with expert stitching. c. late 1940s-1950s. This prop was hung behind the Peanut Gallery and comes from the daughter of Lee Carney, Howdy Doody’s puppeteer on the show. Pennant has a fold line running horizontally through its center and several scattered insect holes. 1” piece missing off tapered end of pennant. Still bright and clean. Fine overall. Comes with letter from Deborah Hayes, Lee Carney’s daughter. A unique piece of TV history.
