Item Description
10x15” softcover with 64 pages. Color reprints of 1904-1906 Sunday strips. Features Frederick Opper’s Maud and Happy Hooligan as well as Rudolph Dirks’ Katzenjammer Kids. This is the first comic book to compile more than one newspaper strip together. Frederick A. Stokes Co. ©1908. Front cover has heavy 10” vertical crease at center with clear tape reinforcement to inside front cover. Back cover has .25x1” chip to upper corner. Covers are Good. Pages have corner tip tanning with some chips missing at corners, measuring .25-.5”. Last page has 8” tear with tape repair to reverse with .25x.5” piece missing. Pages are Good overall. Spine appears to have had second cloth binding put in place long ago. Rare.
