3.25x5.25” vertical format. c. early 1930s. Booklet deals with Miss Dolly Dooitt and Mr. Julius J. Jazzhound engaging in various sexual activities until Dolly gets kicked out and runs into a Keystone Kop-like character. Subtitle reads “A Despicable Narrative In 28 Heart-Rending Spasms - Anon. Obscenely Illustrated.” British price below. First page reads “Translated From The French” and lists London publisher Haigh & Downing, Ltd. Art includes anti-Semitic theme as Jazzhound is caricatured Jewish man. 24-page story is illustrated in single panel sequences with additional illustrations/narratives below. Last 4 pages consist of “Advertising Section” with first page featuring image of Dolly disrobing with sign tied about her waist with “Advertising Section” text. Following 3 pages are ads for fictitious machines like “Le Parisian Intercourse Machine” (a Rube Goldberg-like machine for single women) and the “Cen-Inture Radio Hook-Up” for couples. Extremely high quality illustrations. Paper is quality coated stock printed on one side only. Covers have dust soiling and creasing from handling, creased as is usual at top by staple pair. VG/Fine with Exc. contents. Only the third example we’ve seen. Rare.
