Item Description
8.5x19.75x6” deep box contains large, 19” long tin litho car made in Spain by Rico. Ford Galaxie markings on car grill and rear. This is 1964 convertible with scarcer seafoam green color. Although car is 1964 model, toy dates to c. 1967 given the obvious Beatles Sergeant Pepper era influence in design. Bump-and-go motor functions work as well as music function playing through speaker in back seat. Four separate included vinyl figures of band playing instruments. Car has “Los Ye-Yes” text on hood with psychedelic flower design and musical notes scattered all over car in addition to images of cat, glasses, flowers, pipe, guitar, umbrella, eye and many other interesting designs. “Eurovision” text on trunk. Drummer figure has original string tag around neck with Spanish text instructions for voice box function. Roughly translates to “Press Voice With Handle Position. One Expecting Finish To Return Position Off. Thanks.” Car shows lt. traces of wear with a few pinpoint nicks and scratches but is o/w Exc./N. Mint. Box shows wear with clear tape reinforcements at corners and some dust soiling to lid. Fine/VF. First we’ve offered. Great design, large and impressive.
