Item Description
6.75” tall plaster figure shows Popeye seated in style reminiscent of Rodin’s “The Thinker.” Scattered paint wear with wear to Popeye’s ear. .25” opening in plaster at elbow/knee as produced. Fine. Comes with 7” tall plaster figure on 3.5x5.5” ashtray base. Figure is near identical though much more detailed with incised anchor tattoos on forearms. Incised text on base reads “Blow Me Down - I Wonder If I Have Lost Me Punch!” Hole provided for pipe though pipe is not included. Both c. 1930s. Ashtray figure is extremely well detailed with great design and Exc.
