Item Description
Early 1900s 2.25” celluloid covered pocket mirror (item is also known as a 1.75” button) showing the rear view of steers in their barn with caption “What Is Your Age?” The steer at left with “20” (years) notation has short horns and his tail rises vertically stiff and straight. As the years and notations progress “30-40-50-60” the horns grow longer and the tails sequentially become limper and lower. Rim text at top reads “Compliments Of Palace Pool Room/601 Broadway, Farrell, Pa.” At far right is 1/8” long shallow scratch barely showing in reflected light. This is exceedingly minor and the piece still displays N. Mint. Our Collectible Pin-Back Button book example realized $321 plus the buyer’s premium. This mirror with pool room sponsor is equally as rare.
