Auction #200 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1186 in auction 200
Item Description
1.75” with unusual backpaper that has tiny text naming New York City maker “U.S. Mfg. Co.” but including extensive tiny text detailing “1909 Programme” listing events on Saturday, Sep. 25 through Saturday, Oct. 9th. First we recall seeing this particular backpaper although we’ve seen this button about 3 times before. Superb color with female in pink gown blowing long thin trumpet against sunburst while left and right are portraits of Hudson and Fulton with their respective ships below. Trivial .25” hairline cello split on the reverse but causes no problem and lays flat.
