3.25x6x1" thick metal sculpture plaque of cast aluminum w/gold bronze lustrous finish showing grinning boy who would later become Alfred E. Neuman of MAD magazine fame wearing straw hat in relief. Just above caption are small incised images of summer themes including swimming at fishing hole, camping in sunset, fishing, dog chasing bird. © 1928 w/text on back A. E. Mitchell Art Co., Los Angeles, Calif. Bottom front has © 1927. Molded hanger holes on back, wire string for hanging. .25" area of color rub to bronze finish on brim of hat but plaque is Exc. w/great design. Early and rare.
