Item Description
5” tall with 1.75” celluloid button. Ribbon reads “Centennial 1814-1914/Birthplace Of General Custer/New Rumley Ohio.” Little darkening of luster at left of embossed brass hanger and ribbon badge has 3 crease lines plus slight loss of gold lettering but all remains easily readable. 1.75” cello has portrait: top right captioned “Gen. George A. Custer.” Below is detailed illustration of two-story home surrounded by trees with text below “General Custer’s Birthplace/New Rumley, Ohio.” Celluloid has lt. tan age spots around the outer edge going inward about 3/16” at the most. Light age and tiny 1/16” hole in rarely seen backpaper reading “Made By Fuller Regalia & Costume Co. Worcester, Mass.” Our only other example, 15 auctions ago, was in a bit better condition and realized nearly $700. This one opens very conservatively.
