Item Description
This massive celluloid has 2 slots on back where a wire easel was once positioned. There are also tiny traces of a red ribbon at the top indicating it once was suspended from a ribbon badge. Curl of the button reads “H.E. Smith Co., Indpls.” Pictured in his shrine outfit and color tinted as he sits atop a camel is “E.J. Jacoby, Potentate.” Center circle is apparently the hometown group and this reads “Murat/Indianapolis, Ind.” The outer rim reads “Pilgrimage To Medinah/Chicago, Sept. 27. 1907.” Surface has numerous but quite small hairline scratches showing only in reflected light. With normal viewing, button displays essentially Mint. A very limited issue and the only example we’ve seen. See following related shrine item.
