Item Description
Lot consists of one book and eight figures. First is 9.75x13" heavy paper illustrated book © 1932. Cover includes "Licensed By King Features Syndicate No. 281." 16 pages, each w/story text and corresponding color illustrations. Cover page text includes "Pictures By Frederick Burr Opper (Dean Of American Cartoonists)/Story By Marian Kinnaird/Copyright 1932/McLoughlin Bros. Inc., Springfield, Mass. U.S.A." 1x1.25" rub in upper right red field of cover, lt. surface dust. Solid spine. Contents are Exc. Second item is eight cardboard figures, each 2.75" wide. Heights range from 4" to 8.5". Each printed figure is attached to heavy cardboard backing and .5" square piece of wood attached to back bottom. Bottom front of each character has text "© 1925 Int'l Feature Service Inc." Each character has name identified on clothing. Characters include "Happy, Gloomy Gus, Mr. Dough, Montmorency, The Cop, Boitram, Foidinand, Hoiman." Each has minor ripple in surface paper, noticeable under close inspection. Colors remain bright and clean. Glossy finish to surface paper. VF. Likely used as targets for game.
