Item Description
1-11/16” tall perfectly formed transparent Lucite likely taken from the windshield of a damaged airplane. Soldiers used this material to produce items for wives and girlfriends back home. This has hand-engraved apparent thin piece of silver, again heart-shaped, with inscription “My Dear/Sweetheart/New Guinea/1944.” At the top of the heart is a small loop which joins to a 17” fine link chain.
