Item Description
Lot of 53, each about 3.5x5.5". Related or similar cards have been photographed together and include 11 Katzenjammers, each w/text at top "Heat Up This Postcard With Hot Flat Iron, Gas Jet Or Match (Don't Burn It)." Adding heat brings out an additional hidden illustration on the card. Bottom of this group reads "© 1906 By American Journal Examiner." Caption of each card is printed to bottom right. Second group consists of six mechanical Katzenjammers, each w/1906 copyright. Colorful and clean. Third is lot of 12 Happy Hooligan-Raphael Tuck postcards, many postally used, all have © 1904 at bottom. Some have inked inscriptions on fronts but overall clean and colorful. Fourth group is 10 Happy Hooligans (newspaper premiums). Four have similar heating instructions at top as previously mentioned. © 1906. Last group includes seven Maud Mule/two Alphonse and Gaston/five Foxy Grandpa postcards. Four are mechanicals. Some are postally used. All are Fine to Exc.
