Item Description
First is celluloid cat with tin butterfly attached by a spring, 5” long. By Masudaya, Occupied Japan. 1940s. Works and moves forward as butterfly spins. Second toy consists of 3” long tin litho “kennel” with built-in key and attached by a pair of rods are 3” to 3.5” celluloid figures of a cat and dog each with a wheel at bottom of rod to allow movement. Kennel features image of dog at doorway, flowers and plants on sides. Japan, 1930s. Toy works and features great action, the figures move in circles but change direction as if in a heated chase of one another. Small traces of wear to both toys but both remain VF/Exc.
