This rare and unusual ring was a premium from Weather Bird Shoes. It consists of a blue plastic base with very high relief gold plastic top designed as the head of Pinocchio. This includes company rooster logo on his cap above the word “Pinocchio” across the hat band. His nose is a piece of rubber .75” long when full extended. Nose on this example is extended but can be pushed into the head to become “normal” size. However, we would suggest leaving the nose as it is as there is no reason to stress the half century old rubber. Ring has super gold luster and is essentially perfect. A superb example and of the 6 or so we’ve seen, only one has been of equal quality. The ring was originally issued with a member’s card which read on the reverse “Wear Your Pinocchio Tell The Truth Ring As Your Badge Of Trust. If Pinocchio Should Hear A Fib Or A Tall Story, His Nose Will Grow And Grow. Pull Pinocchio’s Nose Out Slowly To Make It Grow As A Gentle Reminder Whenever You Hear A Friend Tell A Fib…Or Whenever You Are Tempted To Tell One Yourself.”
