Box has separated corners and missing sections of apron but label is intact. Lid and bottom have repeat generic red/green/black pattern. Bottom has warping and convex side w/corner split. Good. Box has original silver color insert that holds the tea set. Tea set consists of four 3-3/8" dia. plates, four 2" dia. teacups, 2" tall creamer, 2.5" tall sugar bowl w/lid, 3.5" tall teapot w/lid. Teapot has images of characters w/names "Betty Boop, Bimbo, Koko." Scenes on plates have matching cups. Scenes include Betty w/Koko on park bench, Betty playing tennis, Betty riding bicycle, Betty singing. Same image of Betty appears on creamer and sugar. All images of Betty show her as a blonde. Some images have lt. wear but overall VF. Each piece is marked "Made In Japan." Teapot is marked "Betty Boop/Des. & Corp. By Fleischer Studios/Made In Japan." Purple luster accents appear on all pieces. No chips, cracks or flakes. Original box insert adds to make for an appealing display. Box is Good, china is VF. c. 1930s.
