Item Description
1.75” from the 1950s with curl text “Bernad Creations, Yonkers, N.Y.” Cartoon shows person who has retreated into a box captioned below “People Are No Damn Good.” Steig sold his first cartoon to The New Yorker in 1930 and became very successful over the following years contributing more than 1,600 cartoons to the magazine along with 117 covers. Newsweek dubbed him “King Of Cartoons.” This example from a small series of buttons was produced around the late 1950s. Exc. and displays Mint. Scarce.
