Item Description
This is not only the first Donald Duck comic book but the very first Walt Disney comic book. Whitman/K.K. Publications ©1938. In same format as the Feature Books, 8.5x11.25” with cardboard cover. 80 pages in bw featuring Sunday strip reprints from 1936 & 1937 including the first strips with Huey, Dewey & Louie. Classic cover art, front features Donald with a bubble pipe while back cover image is of him as an angel. Contents loose from cover, center 2 pages are loose but o/w all remains intact. Latter half of the book has a thin moisture stain streak on extreme bottom page margin .25x2” at its largest point. None affects the page content. Otherwise pages have typical age toning but remain totally clean. Moderate cover aging and wear mostly along edges including some pinch creases, small tears at spine. Back cover has same moisture mark as contents. Cover color remains strong. Overall cover is VG, contents Fine. A very scarce and hard to find Disney comic. Overstreet value in VG=$760, Fine=$1,140.
