Item Description
.75” button with W&H backpaper issued in 1915, the 4th year of movie serials. Button reads “Neal Of The Navy/Pathe.” Pictured beneath the title is a warship. The ship’s super-structure is in reflective gold foil and the ocean waters are in reflective bluish-green foil. The foils are beneath the celluloid on the interior of the button and this expensive process was known as Crystoglas. It was used on only a very few buttons around the 1915 era. See following item as well as #744. The serial starred Lillian Loraine and William Courtleigh, Jr. Exc. and displays Mint. Comes with Hake’s COA.
