Auction #200 - Part II
Item numbers 1187 through 2776 in auction 200
Item Description
1.5” for group organized April 24, 1923 by people interested in the costume industry. The group still exists today to maintain and promote professional and ethical standards of business in the costume industry. This button has no backpaper or maker’s name as issued. There is a faint bit of age tone on the reverse around the collet but the only bit of this showing on the front are three 1/8” spots on the upper right edge extending inward about 1/8” but blending very well with the dark red bkg. and showing extremely little. All else remains bright and clean. Rim features group’s name while center has their initials flanked by a man and woman portrayed in dress from the early colonial days. Rare and the only example we’ve seen.
