This is a 50” long high quality, custom made necktie with hand-painted images of six radio premiums produced by the Robbins Co. of Attleboro, Mass. This tie was bought at a yard sale in Attleboro from the daughter of the man this tie was presented to. We don’t know his precise function at the company but from the artwork on the tie it stands to reason that he was a premium designer and his daughter stated to the purchaser that he would bring home many premiums for the children to play with. The tie is in its original 5x14x.75” deep box with logo and information on the lid naming the Chicago maker “Lenard Stern Inc./Exclusive Custom Made Ties.” Their label with address and logo is sewn to the rear of the tie fabric and also there is a second printed label inscribed “Custom Made For Raoul LaCasse.” This gentleman’s name also appears in pencil on the underside of the tie box. The tie is in essentially Mint condition and appears to have never been worn. The box itself is extremely Fine. Pictured on the tie are six premiums from 1949-1950. The four for Sky King are the Magni-Glo ring from 1949, the Spy-Detecto Writer from 1949, the Tele-Blinker ring from 1949 (see item #1401) and from 1950 the Navajo Treasure Ring. There is one “Roy Rogers Deputy Sheriff” premium pictured and this was issued in 1950 by Quaker Cereals. There is also pictured The Lone Ranger Movie Film Ring from 1949. Beautifully crafted and unique. A wonderful item to go with a premium collection.
