Item Description
Group includes her earliest ring from 1934 which doubled as a slide for the Orphan Annie bandanna. This has her portrait on the top and reads “Little Orphan Annie” surrounding. Small luster loss on the narrow ring bands but the top half is essentially Mint. Second from 1936 is the Silver Star Member ring. This has the Radio Orphan Annie initials and pair of crossed keys symbol on the top with the words “Secret Society” above and below. Ring has tarnish that would clean off but is o/w Exc. Third is the Silver Star Secret Message ring from 1937. Bands have the “ROA” letters plus crossed keys on each side while top is a long series of numbers which when translated by using the code key in the manual for that year results in the message “I Am A Silver Star Member Of Orphan Annie’s Secret Society And Belong To The Circle Of Her Special Friends.” Small loss of silver luster from the narrow ring bands but top half is Exc. Next are a pair of 1937 rings called the “2 Initial Signet” rings. Each of these has a brass band with a pair of individual silver luster initials set into the top. These were personalized for the person ordering the ring. One of these has the initials “GO” and the other has the initials “VW.” Both have outstanding N. Mint luster with the luster on one a deeper shade of gold than on the other. Last is the 1939 Mystic Eye detective ring. This has star and chevron designs on the bands while the top portrays the eagle emblem of the USA. Two side edges of the ring top have rectangular cut-outs and there is a mirror on the interior so when viewed looking straight ahead, objects at a 90° angle to the right will be seen. This ring was also used by Captain Midnight and The Lone Ranger. An outstanding N. Mint example. Group of six.
