Item Description
This 1940s ring, probably from a candy maker, has adjustable brass band with side designs the same as the Kix Atomic Bomb ring. The ring top is also somewhat similar in concept although this is a piece of aluminum which has a noticeable notched cut-out on the top and a tiny opening in the front so that when blown into, it produces a high-pitched whistle. The opposite end should have a cream colored plastic cap made of glow-in-the-dark material. The original cap includes 4 tail pins like a bomb. That cap was identical in shape to the cap on the end of the Kix Atomic Bomb ring. An end cap from the Kix ring has been neatly painted cream color and serves as a substitute on this ring so that the appearance is extremely close to the complete original but the end cap of course will not glow. The end cap is removable so the interior of the bomb-shaped piece could serve as a secret compartment. Ring has very nice bright luster on its base with just a very tiny bend in the metal half way down the side of one prong. We had a compete example of this ring in Auction #199 and it realized $2,000 plus the buyer’s premium. This example certainly displays VF and is one of the rarest premium rings.
