Item Description
3.25x3.75x5/8” thick cardboard and leather case with gold accents. Spine split, but has old very neatly applied leather strip repair that joins front and back. Front cover has color rubs. All other interior and exterior is Exc. and complete with two brass mats and glass. Velvet liner has raised text “Brady’s Gallery/359/Broadway, New York.” Brady opened this location as a Daguerrean Gallery (over Thompson’s Saloon) on March 10, 1853 and worked there until opening his National Portrait Gallery in January, 1860 at Broadway and 10th St.
