Large 10.5x13.5" Whitman book #4001 © 1937. Has 128 pages in bw plus eight full color plates. Book features a nice selection of text stories w/story art on nearly every other page. These stories include "Mickey's Elephant, Mickey's Fire Brigade, Hiawatha, The Robber Kitten, The Band Concert, Three Orphan Kittens, The Waterbabies, Alpine Climbers," others. The color plates are reprints of Good Housekeeping pages. These are "The Big Bad Wolf, The Country Cousin, The Wise Little Hen, The Tortoise And The Hare, Elmer Elephant, The Grasshopper And The Ants, The Golden Touch, The Three Mouseketeers." Contents have tanned margins, extreme page edges show some small moisture spotting, mostly only when book is closed and viewed along side edge, not greatly affecting individual pages. One page has a 2" margin tear. Cover is partially loose at inside spine but all remains firmly intact. Cover has spine paper missing w/black tape replacement. Different art appears on front and back covers. Cover has scattered trace of edge wear, small scattered color rubs but remains clean w/great color. Still a VG to Fine copy which features great contents.
