Item Description
Exceptional five-piece set from the 1930s, each piece has company mark on underside of "Koenigszelt Germany." Set consists of 5.75" dia. by 1.75" deep dish and four 3.5" dia. individual serving plates, all have scalloped edges w/bright gold trim. The dish features image of Mickey one-man band and he blows a saxophone while beating a bass drum using his tail to hold the beater. The sax's spit valve is shown w/bucket underneath catching drops of saliva. Two of the individual plates feature a rather coy image of Mickey while the other two depict him playing one-stringed instrument. One of these plates has a barely noticeable .5" hairline on raised rim edge at right center while reverse top rim edge also has a .25" flake, barely visible when viewed straight on. Outer rim edge of dish has scattered trace of wear to the gold luster, nearly all gold accent remains on the dishes. The images have some tiny scattered dots of color loss but all remain strong and distinct, all pieces retain bright and glossy appearance. Set remains VF to Exc. Rare.
