c. 1950s. Japan. Thin cardboard box is 3.5x4-1/8x6-1/8” tall overall with nice graphics on front and back of Howdy and Clarabell with different smiling image of both on lid top. Side panels have illustrated instructions for use. Box has lt. dust soil, a few splits along left seam of front. Right side panel is missing .25x.75” bit of surface paper at upper left. Still clean with nice color. Fine. Toy is 6.5” tall lithographed tin with his name on front ©Kagran Corp. Has spring-loaded cable action. Squeaks as it hops. Working. Toy has extensive paint nicks and scattered overall wear most noticeable on left side. VG. Nice design with bright color.
