Published by the Skelly Oil Co. Includes Vol. 1, No.3 for Aug. 1, 1939 and Vol. 1, No. 6 final issue for March, 1940. Each is 10.75x16.5” newsprint with 4 pages with some accent color. 1939 issue has headline “Orders Pour In For Bomber Plans And Kits Flight Patrol Members Unanimous In Saying Spartan Plane Finest They’ve Seen!” with photo of plane with caption “New Spartan Bomber Thrills Thousands.” Page 3 has additional photo of bomber with coupon to order plans and kit. Back cover has “Captain Midnight’s Flying Vacation” comic strip. Lightly tanned here and there though not brittle. Three corners have some creasing. Back cover has 1” glue streak across top. VG. March 1940 issue has sub-headline “A 3-Cent Stamp Brings You Plans For Spartan Bomber” with photo at left showing propeller shop at Spartan school and photo at right showing model plane. Page 3 has graphics of warplane insignias the world over, back cover has “Build A Model Miniature Airport!” with detailed art of airport. Trace of lt. tanning here and there though not brittle. Lt. horizontal fold through center. N. Mint appearance. Both newspapers are extremely well done.
