Item Description
Skelly Oil 1940. Letter is 8.5x11” with text including “The Availability Of These Maps Will Be Announced For The First Time In Our Advertising Commercial On Wednesday, Feb. 28.” Printed signature of A.E. Taylor. Top edge has impression from paper clip with tiny bit of rust. Body of letter is Exc. 11x17” map has nice photos at top showing actors portraying Captain Midnight, Chuck Ramsey and Patsy. Margin photos show 10 real aircraft from different airlines. Legend at lower left names total of 25 airlines and map itself pictures various air routes. Map has vertical fold in center as issued. Bottom edge near center has paper clip ripple in paper, o/w Mint. Choice graphics. Letter is first we’ve seen in our 44+ year history.
