Lid has choice graphics by creator R.F. Outcault showing Buster and Tige laughing and leaping over hurdles followed by bear, chimpanzee, Mary Jane, Buddy Tucker and Pore Li’l Mose. Inside box bottom has crowded race scene with Buster in the lead followed by Tige, chimpanzee, Mary Jane, The Yellow Kid leaping a hurdle. Pore Li’l Mose trying to save a drowning bear, black cat, dog, black caricature woman on donkey, horse rider about to be thrown over hay, pelican, heavy woman, clown, bucking donkey held by clown and Buddy Tucker reading “Two Fingered Dick” dime novel. Band is playing “Hail To The Chief No. 4” with nearby crowd cheering Buster on. Top of scene has lobster dinner place settings. Upper right has black stereotypical boy coming out of tent with spoon. Contents include 3-3/8x3-3/8” die-cut cardboard/metal spinner and 6 wood playing pieces. No instructions. . Cardboard spinner is heavily worn, playing pieces and gameboard are Exc. Choice graphics. Possibly the only time creator Outcault drew all his characters for 1 item. First we’ve seen in our 44+ years.
