Item Description
13.5x19” sheet of thin parchment published in 1874 by Columbian Publishing Co. New York. Patriotic border has wonderful image at top with eagle in center with nearby American flags furled. Lower left has printed seal of “Department of the Interior.” Lower left has facsimile seal with printed text “I Certify This Is A Perfect Facsimile Of The Original Document Now On Deposit In The Patent Office At Washington D.C.” with printed signature of Columbus Delano. Lower right has text ad for “Traphagen Hunter & Co.” clothiers in the Bowery. Right margin edge is lightly tanned with bit of wear along extreme edge including a few small tears and tiny bits of missing paper. Blank reverse side has 1.5x10” area with remnants of bits of light blue thin paper attached, possibly from early framing. Not visible from front. Will mat and frame to near Fine appearance. Unusual variety. Nicely printed.
