Item Description
c. 1950s. Japan. 4.25x5x2.75” tall box has nice lid illustration of bear smoking pipe while hitting golf ball as happy animals look on. Lid top includes text “Shoots A Hole-In-One Every Time.” Japan. Two side panels give instructions on how to play. Golf theme on each end. Although art is of a bear, the illustration is reminiscent of Mickey Mouse. Box has tiny scattered edge wear. Fine. Toy is 4-1/8” tall with built-in key holding a golf club on the base. Attached to base is a small trough which in turn attaches to golfing hole unit. Hole is surrounded with wire frame with cloth netting. When wound, toy works and bear shoots ball up trough into hole and it returns for the next sequence. Bear has original rubber ears. Complete with 3 original balls. Tiny trace of wear. VF/Exc. appearance. Nice design.
