Auction #201 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1408 in auction 201
Item Description
The necklace is comprised of large translucent red celluloid links totaling about 22” long complete with original brass hook and ring. Eight brass rings hold eight dark green celluloid leaves complete with simulated veins. In addition, four brass rings each hold a pair of deep red Bakelite carved cherries, each about .75” diameter. Each pair is held on the ring by a strand of round gimp-like material representing the stem. This material lost some of its green tint over the years and a few strands have tiny traces of wear, but all remain structurally sound. An iconic creation of the Bakelite jewelry era and in extremely fine condition.
