Item Description
9.5x14x2.75” deep display box contains 3 pairs of 6.75” long vinyl slip-on “Winter Mode” shoes by Diamatsu Kogyo Co., Ltd. c. 1966. Exclusive to the Japanese market. Each shoe has vinyl strap with batsymbol and front of shoe has image of Batman and Robin running with “Batman” in Japanese text at toes. All but 1 shoe has original cardboard inserts and each pair comes complete with 1-3/8x1.75” tag with batsymbol and “Batman” name in Japanese with Japanese text on back. Tag also notes shoes sold for 320¥. Shoes are unused and N. Mint. Box has graphics of Batman as well as Snow White and Japanese Oba-Q characters as shoes were also made for those characters. Batman graphic and name in Japanese takes up most of center of box lid. Box shows moderate wear with dust soiling and creasing, 1” tear to front side panel and corner split. VG. Nice quality and design. One of only a few known examples with display box. Rare. From the Saul Ferris Collection.
