Item Description
3” wide by 5.5” tall by 15” long. Daito Co. Ltd. c. 1966. Exclusive to the Japanese market. Tin litho body of helicopter has “Batman” name in English and Japanese and has batsymbol below rotors and images of Batman and Robin in cockpit windows. Separate plastic pilot figure does not appear to be either Batman or Robin though as it sits behind plastic cockpit bubble, we cannot be sure. Plastic rotor blades and rear rotor. Friction function works and when helicopter is pushed forward, main rotor rotates. One rotor has reglued blade. Scattered lt. aging to plastic and tin but helicopter is Fine overall. Superb design, a dynamic item for both Batman and tin toy collectors. Very rare, this is one of only 2 examples our consignor has seen and this is the actual example shown in “Bat-Manga” book by Pantheon Books. From the Saul Ferris Collection.
