Item Description
This is the company’s earliest design but typically it is only about half this size and comes suspended from the early design version button depicting woman seated on crescent moon (see second version following item). This beautiful die-cut piece is 2.5” wide by 4-7/8” tall. The woman, with riding crop, stands on a crate of “High Life/Milwaukee’s Leading Bottled Beer.” Celluloid is complete with original red ribbon at the top. Reverse has red text “Drink Miller High Life/The Champagne Of Bottled Beer/Sold Everywhere/Ask For It/ Brewed By Miller Brewing Co. Milwaukee” followed by tiny text of maker’s name Bastian. This brand was introduced in 1903 and likely this exceptionally large celluloid dates from that era. From the Morry Greener Collection.
