Item Description
Group of 19 pieces with the c. 1896-1900 items mostly 7/8” and the 3 more modern items at the bottom of the photo from 1.5” to 1.75”. Briefly in order the items are – enamel on brass pin for “Eagle Bicycle,” Fenton, Ide Wheel, Phoenix (tiny stain), Mars, Rochester Bicycles (great color), Spalding, The Yellow Fellow, Iver Johnson Boy Scout Bicycle (tiny stain trace at center panel), Morrow Safety Brake, Corbin Brake in yellow, Corbin Brake in bw/red, Corbin Brake in green. The racing button is a 1.25” titled “Great 50 Mile Match Race/Elks vs. Martin/Charles River Park/Sat. Afternoon/June 25, 98.” Yellow bkg. has very slightest bit of spotting but hardly showing. Button includes W&H backpaper promoting a somewhat later race on July 2, 1898 between “Jimmie Michael vs. Eddie McDuffee – 15 Mile Paced Race.” The 5 more modern items are a “Schwinn” brass pin c. 1950s, a “Hiawatha” 1950s litho and 3 more modern buttons including 1 featuring rear view of nude woman next to a high wheel bicycle and reading “Cycle For Your Health.” Exc. condition with minor exceptions noted.
