Item Description
1.75” superbly colored button c. 1905-1907 with Bastian backpaper promoting “Lafayette Stock Farm, Lafayette, Ind.” At center are pair of horses with cropped tails. They face in opposite directions against a beautifully colored green hillside scene. Text at top reads “Largest Importers Of Percheron, Belgian, Shire & Hackney Stallions And Mares.” At least one other version exists which incorporates the word “America’s” as part of this upper text. Button has exceedingly trivial wear in reflected light including a near microscopic pinpoint air bubble at far center right. Small 1/8” glue dot on the Bastian backpaper. Condition remains Exc. and the button displays Mint. This button is featured in the color page section of Collectible Pin-Back Buttons on page #161.
