Item Description
2x3.5” tall die-cut flat celluloid figures joined together by 3 rivets and a brass-eared tab so that Stalin is movable when the tab at bottom right is moved back and forth. Stalin is portrayed with hammer and sickle arm band while Hitler has swastika arm band, both with pink accent. Because we’ve had this item once before, we know that Hitler should be posed with an extended hand holding a copy of his book titled “Mein Kampf” on the left and with a swastika design on the right. However, the book and hand have snapped off although that is not obvious just by looking at the piece. The “risqué” aspect of the item is fully intact and functional. Stalin grasps Hitler’s shoulder and moving the celluloid tab back and forth reveals Stalin’s penis tipped in hot pink color accent. All 3 sections of Stalin move when the piece is activated while the figure of Hitler remains stationary. Our complete example of this item in Auction #199, item #811, which came from the estate of a WWII veteran, realized $1262. While this second example is incomplete, it also has what we feel is a conservative opening bid. From the Morry Greener Collection.
