Item Description
2.25” for “4th War Loan/Bethlehem-Hingham/Shipyard, Inc.” Above the speeding “Hellcats” airplane is a second illustration representing the world globe. There are a couple of lines swirling around the globe and as if being thrown off into space, at left is a symbol representing the so-called ‘rising sun’ of Japan while at the right is the swastika symbol of Germany. Over-printing this design area is the slogan “To Rid The World Of Rats.” Reverse has metal back and bar pin. Silver luster off the metal back but o/w button is essentially Mint as made. Only our second example and the first exceeded $400.
